TŌ consist of recordings from my travels in both Greenland and Japan. An audiovisuel piece with the purpose of celebrating the static states we surround ourselves with – day to day.
The piece is split into three closely connected parts, in which the sound and picture is let to twirl around itself. Each presenting a somewhat never ending soundscape.
The momentarily passing in a musical piece is an interest of mine. I try to describe this concept ‘Gardens’ as a way of experiencing the static quality of wandering into a piece, for the next moment to leave it be, only to continue to the next.
First performed at ‘RAMA FESTIVAL 2018’ with live accompaniment by Laurits Jongejan and Natal Zaks.
TŌ was part of my solo exhibition at the contemporary art center Regelbau411. In Regelbau411’s bunkers the piece was shown as three separate video parts.
The inspiration for this particular set up came from Hieronymus Bosch’s triptych. Where three separate scenes is shown side by side with close connection thematically, but tonally differs for each scene.
The piece seems even more “ever going” than before, and because of the variating length of each part, the piece becomes an ever changing sonic landscape.
